The Northeast Energy Workforce Consortium has developed four working groups to help us strengthen the energy talent pipeline in Northeast Region; three task force working groups – Construction Project Management, Energy and Natural Resources (ENR) Career and Technical Education (CTE) Career Cluster, and Power Systems Engineering – and a Technical Training Committee. The committees are meant to be enduring working groups whereas the task forces are meant to be for shorter-term initiatives with objectives to achieve over a few years.
Through partnerships with educators, workforce systems, community organizations, and industry, we seek to expand career awareness, grow local pathways, and connect learners to real opportunities in energy.
Technical Training Committee
The Technical Training Committee is designed for technical training personnel representing FEWC industry member organizations within the consortium. These individuals are responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining company technical training programs that support skills development and attainment to meet workforce needs. The Committee aims to create a collaborative environment where technical training staff can exchange knowledge, share proven strategies, and discuss innovative approaches to training delivery and design.
NOTE: The Technical Training Committee is an industry community of practice and is not open to individuals who do not work directly for an energy or utility company.

Construction Project Management Task Force
In response to the tremendous growth of infrastructure projects in the energy industry, the demand for skilled project managers in construction is rapidly increasing to lead large scale, up to multi-billion-dollar projects. This working group will identify ideal candidate profiles for construction project management and work with regional workforce stakeholders to identify potential talent pools and sources to get the right people credentialed to lead these critical and complex projects.

Energy and Natural Resources (ENR) CTE Career Cluster Task Force
The Energy & Natural Resources (ENR) Career and Technical Education (CTE) Career Cluster (recently established at the federal level) spans careers in traditional and renewable fuel production, power generation and energy conversion, utilities, environmental preservation, ecological research, and resource extraction. This Task Force will discuss strategies on how to collaborate with policymakers, education leaders, and key stakeholders at state and local levels to drive the implementation of the newly created Energy and Natural Resources CTE Career Cluster in each of our states. Given the growing need for energy resources, it is critical to build awareness and adoption of energy curriculum to support the p-12 education system.

Power Systems Engineering Task Force
The Power Systems Engineering (PSE) Task Force of the consortium will focus on a variety of topics related to PSE including utility workforce trends and projected demand for power systems engineers; skill gaps in engineering graduates; curriculum design and content for internal and external PSE training and education; and opportunities to develop partnerships with higher education institutions to expand programs in PSE.
